Settlement

Acrylic on canvas

Memories of my first visit to Hobart include key buildings such as a customs house near the docks, wool stores, a vineyard, a brewery, government house, a residential dress circle, and, further out, a stone church and convict-built bridge. Recollections from Grade 7 Social Studies identify most of these structures were considered essential to the establishment of a new settlement.
