These last few years have been tough.
I find myself regularly longing for simpler times – times long before we found our privileged lives upturned by a pandemic. Remember when we were allowed to play in the street until dark, walk ourselves to and from school, climb trees and hang upside-down on monkey bars, purchase whole bags of lollies for five cents, and lie on our backs watching shapes form in the clouds? We learnt from our mistakes, trusted in humanity – and had a childhood.
